HEB Manitoba is pleased to offer Employee Life Insurance, Family (Dependant) Life Insurance, and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance to eligible healthcare employees in Manitoba.
In addition to the insurance coverage offered to active members, HEB Manitoba offers Post Retirement Insurance (PRI) to retired members. Some members who are retiring may also qualify for a Paid-up Life Insurance Policy.
The Great-West Life Assurance Company (Great-West Life) administers and adjudicates claims for the HEB Life Insurance Plan.
Your employer does not necessarily participate in each of the benefit plans offered by HEB Manitoba. Please check your eligibility for Life Insurance Plan coverage with your employer.
This section provides you with a convenient summary of your coverage. In all cases, the specific benefits available and the terms and conditions under which they are provided, are governed by the Group Agreement between HEB Manitoba and Great-West Life. In the event of any difference between the terms on this website and those of the Group Agreement, the terms of the Group Agreement shall apply.
Life Insurance benefits are paid based on the provisions of the Plan, the number of insurance units indicated on enrolment and change forms received by HEB Manitoba, and/or the administrative practices in effect at the time of enrolment or change in coverage.
Payment of premiums does not guarantee coverage if HEB Manitoba has not received required documentation, or if the provisions of the Plan are not met.
