Healthcare and Dental Plans
Your Healthcare and/or Dental Plan coverage stops at the end of the month following the month of your last premium deduction (i.e., after you end employment, retire, die, waive or are deemed to have waived participation during an unpaid leave of absence or layoff). For example, if your last premium deduction is made in June, your coverage will cease July 31.
Healthcare Spending Account
The HSA benefit will stop at the same time your HEB Manitoba Healthcare Plan coverage stops, which is at the end of the month following the month of your last premium deduction (i.e., after you end employment, retire, die, waive or are deemed to have waived participation during an unpaid leave of absence or layoff).
You have 90 days from the end of the coverage termination date to submit claims for any eligible expenses incurred prior to termination (referred to as the 90-day run-off period), and benefit payments will be limited to your maximum benefit amount. Any of your HSA benefit amount remaining after the 90-day run-off period will be forfeited.
